“And He took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when He had taken him in His arms, He said unto them, ‘Whosever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but Him that sent me.’” Mark 9:36-37

Sunday Mornings  At Woodland Hills, we believe that children are important to God.  Children Nursery – 4th Grade join in on Lifeway’s The Gospel Project’s, Chronological, Christ-Centered Studies.  Over the course of 3 years, students go through the chronological retelling of God’s big story from Genesis to Revelation.   Children K-4 check-in and then have a time of games and social gathering before meeting together in a Large Group Bible Study.  It is here that kids will experience the good news of the gospel through a Bible study that is Christ-Centered, Heart Transforming, Age Aligned, Chronological, Theologically Rich, and Missionally Minded.  After Large Group students break up into small groups to recap the lesson and participate in lots of fun-in-class activities.

Sunday Evenings  Our Kid’s Praise Children’s Choir is open to all children in kindergarten through 6th grade, and meets in the Children’s Worship Room on the 2nd floor at the Park, Sunday Evenings at 6:00 pm.  Children feel the power of the presence of God in the context of worship and being in choir will make them better worshipers as they start to grasp the impactful beauty of the worship experience.  Singing in a choir at an early age helps develop self-esteem and performing in front of people when the choir is fully prepared and confident imprints a powerful positive impression on the child.  By having children actively involved in a choir on a weekly basis, the inherent therapeutic benefits of music can shine through.  Music is a unique, God-given transformative experience like none other and we are excited to share this opportunity with your child.

Wednesday Evenings  Children Nursery – 4th Grade are invited to join us every Wednesday night for our midweek gathering.    During these gatherings, we utilize Lifeway’s Hyfi curriculum which aims to teach the truths of Scripture in a way that helps kids understand their true identity in Christ. We utilize high-quality media, games, and side-by-side learning to foster a fun atmosphere of learning and belonging. We have tons of fun while remaining faithful to the Bible. Each night rotates through a large group gathering, a game time, and small group activities.  Hyfi roots the next generation’s identity in Christ through 12 biblical truths that teach them who they are in Him. Every session provides biblically sound content with a clear picture of Jesus and the gospel.  We aim to create a culture of belonging centered on relationships, so every kid feels welcomed and included.  We aim to foster a fun atmosphere while presenting a clear picture of Jesus and the Gospel in every meeting.

Preteens  At Woodland Hills Baptist Church, we understand that preteens are in a unique stage of life, caught between childhood and adolescence. That’s why we offer Bridge 56, a ministry designed specifically for 5th-6th graders, offering them a safe, engaging environment to explore their faith and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Through lessons, group discussions, and interactive activities, we guide them toward faith ownership, empowering them to make their faith their own as they grow.  Our goal is to help each preteen wholeheartedly follow Jesus, preparing them for the life ahead.

VIP   We believe every individual is valued, and important, and has a unique purpose in God’s plan. We are excited to offer our VIP Special Needs Class, a safe and welcoming environment where individuals with special needs can experience God’s love and grow in their faith.

Our team of volunteers provides personalized care and attention, ensuring each participant feels valued and included. With lessons, sensory-friendly activities, and a focus on building meaningful relationships, the VIP class is designed to meet the unique needs of each participant, allowing them to experience spiritual growth in a way that resonates with them.  If you have a child who would benefit from VIP services, please reach out to our director, Krista Foster [email protected]
