Coed 3

The Bereans (Coed 3)
Ronnie & Glynda Jones, Teachers

We started a class several years ago and then we took advantage of an opportunity to combine our class with another established class. We had selected “The Bereans” as a name for the class. The name comes from Acts 17:11. Where Paul the apostle says of the ‘believers’ in Berea, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” That is exactly what we want our class to do every Sunday. We paraphrase it as, “Don’t believe anything that Ronnie says until you check it out by God’s Word.” I bring information that I have gleaned from other teachers that I have studied under, conference speakers that we have heard, books that I have read or Bible commentaries. We have a diverse group of students. We welcome individuals of any age or status. We have couples, several singles, and several men and women who come to our class and their spouses attend or teach in a men’s or women’s class. More than two thirds of the class have been members of WHBC less than five years. Most are also actively involved in other church activities. If you are interested in a different type of ‘in depth’ Bible Study than what you might get from the Quarterly, this might be the place for you. Come to the Chapel and check us out at 9:15am.
