A Night of Thanksgiving and Hope

Join us Sunday, November 15 at 5:30. We will begin in the Grand Hall for a Thanksgiving meal. Following dinner we will be entertained and blessed in the sanctuary with Michael O’Brien and Dennis Swanberg.

Child care for nursery through age 4 is available during the service in the sanctuary. You MUST register your child. Please use the form below or contact Rosio or the church office.

Michael O’Brien

Michael David O’Brien was born on August 23, 1964, in Miami, Florida, where he resided until he was 11 years old. Then he moved to Lafayette, Louisiana where he got involved in music at Comeaux High School. He graduated there and attended USL studying vocal performance. He worked as a bartender in several restaurants and then in his early-twenties, moved back to Miami to live with his sister Dana for a couple of years. He met his wife, Heidi, in the singing group the Heritage Singers. They were married on March 3, 1989 and then in August they moved to Encinitas, California where Michael took a job as a Young Adult Pastor at North Coast Christian Fellowship. His wife Heidi worked there as well. The couple would move to Nashville, Tennessee in April 1991. Working at the Cooker as a waiter until in 1993 he would sign a songwriting deal with Meadowgreen Music. During that time, he sang with a group called Bash and played keyboards for the Allies, Allison Durham and Twila Paris. Michael then signed a record deal with Benson Records in 1994. He recorded 3 CDs with them. He would then join the group Newsong as their lead singer in 1999 until 2006. He has been solo ever since. He and his wife had four children: Meghan, Michael, Joseph, and Timmy. They currently live in Columbia, Tennessee.

Dennis Swanberg

Dr. Dennis Swanberg “THE SWAN” is considered by many as “AMERICA’S MINISTER OF ENCOURAGEMENT.” He uses laughter as a tool to break down people’s barriers about themselves and he promotes faith and family values in a lighthearted and humorous way. He has the reputation for revealing and instilling hope and motivating people from all walks of life.

Dr. Swanberg graduated from Baylor University in 1976. He holds a masters and doctorate degree, both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

He is the host of the nationally broadcasted television shows “The Dennis Swanberg Show,” seen every week on the TBN Cable Channel, and “Swan’s Place,” seen every week on the ACTS/FamilyNet and SkyAngel Cable Networks.

He is a much sought after speaker for churches, civic groups, corporations and many family related events.

The time you spend today with Dr. Swanberg will not only bring you laughter and a time of reflection, but hopefully, you will leave feeling like you have just had a time of fellowship with someone over the backyard fence

Dennis and his wife, Lauree, have two grown sons, Chad and Dusty. He resides in airports all across the United States and sometimes makes his way home to Monroe, Louisiana.
